Ur-Mu, Kuala Lumpur

The Urban Museum or Ur-Mu for short, is a one-of-a-kind, private contemporary art museum. Ur-Mu is a purpose-built contemporary art museum that features selected artworks and eclectic objects across 10 Themed Gallery Spaces, named Sens-Asia, People, Kampung Kita, Power Play, Raksasa(Monster), Superheroes, Framing Modernity, Structure, Made’s Garden and Sculpture Lounge from the collection of a private art patron. Located in the prosperous lifestyle district known as the Golden Triangle with its many large retail malls, hotels and restaurants. Ur-Mu is nestled in the bohemian sector comprising quaint residential streets with low-rise 1950’s modernist-style architecture. Somewhat forgotten over the years has found new vibes in music, food, entertainment and now the arts.

Ur-Mu is a passion project by an award-winning, accomplished architect and maverick of sorts, who is an avid art enthusiast. Ur-Mu’s founder started acquiring artworks since the 1980s whilst studying Architecture at Deakin University in Geelong, Australia which has grown into a notable collection of Malaysian and regional works over the years.

We’re located at Jalan Bedara, Bukit Bintang and are of walking distance from the Bukit Bintang MRT station. The museum gives access to all as we have lifts which service all 5 floors of the museum and a disabled toilet
