After Wayang Kulit was banned in the 90s, comic characters Wak Long and Pak Dogol found themselves out of work, and so started their own restaurant. Now, these cheeky comics come to life to champion the food and stories that make Malaysia.
In this immersive experience audience play the role of new chefs and waiters at Wak Long and Pak Dogol’s restaurant. They feast on Malaysian stories dished out by Wayang Kitchen while enjoying a fine-casual dining experience prepared by venue partner Artisan’s Playground.
Welcome To Our Malaysia! is co-written and produced by Razif Hashim and Hester Welch of Wayang Kitchen and is performed at Artisan’s Playground by Cookhouse located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. The production is supported by the BOH Cameronian Arts Awards Grant and Kakiseni.
