What is your event about?
Teater Muzikal Kesuma Santubong is a groundbreaking theatrical showcase built upon a completely original script and an exclusively composed musical score. Specially commissioned for the 70th Anniversary of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP), this 120-minute production transforms Sarawak’s legendary oral folklore into a high-caliber modern masterpiece. Rather than relying on existing templates, this production introduces a newly drafted playwright that structurally revives a critically endangered Sarawakian folklore song (lagu rakyat). It weaves this nearly forgotten melody into a complex narrative of celestial rivalry, cosmic justice, and female empowerment.
