KARLS presents a unique theatre experience at Beta KL.
From the nimble fingers of classical pianist Mei Lin Hii, the prodigious talent of actors Wendy Wong and Engku Armand, and the slightly bent mind of writer Scott Bergstein, comes an evening of music and theatre that features the music of Felix Mendelsohn and a take on modern romance.
“First Date” delves into the minds of a young couple meeting for the first time on a dinner date and takes a peek at what people are really thinking under the pressure of that initial encounter. It will evoke memories, perhaps, of your first dates and send you screaming for a comfy pillow or for one of Beta KL’s famous cocktails. Mostly, though, you’ll bathe in the music of Mendelsohn as rendered by Mei Lin Hii and laugh at the social agony our couple experiences as they try to navigate their “First Date.”
“First Date” will premiere on 19 October at 7:30pm. Tickets are RM380 and include hors d’oeuvres and two drinks. Reservations are limited and can be made at 019-212-1094.
