Join us for a very special afternoon of music and talk about the “Golden Era of Malayan Music” circa early 40’s – the late 50s’ by Ushera & Ganesh.
About – Semalam Di Malaya
Inspired by the formative years of Malayan’s contemporary music culture & arts scene, “Semalam di Malaya” reflects Ushera’s pride in her Malay heritage. Referring to it as the “revival project,” the album pays homage to the contemporary Malayan music scene of pre-independent 1940s and 1950s Malaya.
The album is the first installation of a series of albums within the “Semalam di Malaya” collection. Working closely with her pianist of 5 years, Ganesh Bala, who is also a composer, arranger and producer, Ushera brings to center stage legends of the era including Kamsani and Nona Asiah, and composers such as Ahmad Jaafar and Osman Ahmad.

Mengenai – Semalam Di Malaya
Diilhamkan oleh muzik, seni & budaya kontemporari Malaya dari era ini, “Semalam di Malaya” adalah refleksi kebanggaan Ushera dalam warisan Melayu nya. Di asas sebagai “revival project”, album “Semalam di Malaya” memberi penghormatan kepada industri muzik kontemporari Malaya 1940-an dan 1950-an.
Ini merupakan album pertama daripada koleksi siri album “Semalam di Malaya”. Bekerja sama dengan pemain pianonya selama 5 tahun, Ganesh Bala, yang merupakan komposer, pengatur dan produser, Ushera mempertengahkan penyanyi legenda dari era ini seperti Kamsani dan Nona Asiah, dan komposer seperti Ahmad Jaafar dan Osman Ahmad.
