In conjunction with The Tokyoiter Exhibition, The Japan Foundation, Kuala Lumpur (JFKL) is excited to announce an open call for applications. With these imaginary magazine covers tribute, this event invites all Malaysian artists, designers, illustrators, and creatives based in Malaysia to celebrate Tokyo’s vibrant city and its residents’ captivating stories through illustration.
To be eligible, applicants must have experienced Tokyo, even if only briefly (Please attach a photo from your time in Tokyo to your submission for verification). Approximately five exceptional artworks will be chosen for exhibition, with the selected artists notified by 22 December 2023.
Each selected artist will receive RM1,000 and a certificate. The selected artists will have the unique opportunity to collaborate with JFKL in producing the final prints for the exhibition, making your creative tribute an integral part of this remarkable event.
