Held on the lush grounds of Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam, the Selangor International Indigenous Arts Festival (SIIAF) is a wonderful showcase of the rich and varied cultures of the region’s biggest tribal groups since 2015.
Organised by Tourism Selangor, the festival is in conjunction with the worldwide World Indigenous People Celebration, which falls on August every year.
The Selangor International Indigenous Arts Festival 2018 is a good chance to discover more about Malaysia’s indigenouspeople especially from Selangor.
This year, the two-day festival set a target to draw more visitors, who enjoyed the cultural performances of domestic and international indigenous tribes, along with food tastings of traditional cuisines of Peninsular and East Malaysia. There were also plenty of food trucks serving food and drinks for visitors and a photo contest to win prizes. Tourism Selangor also comes with initiative to create Malaysia Book Of Record with the longest indigenous traditional chicken bamboos! See you there!
