This is a screening of a short animation film entitled ’SELAMA – The tale of the Vampire Sultan’, directed by Ahmed Iwaz.
Presented by Harum Kasturi Studio, in collaboration with Ini.Itu Cafe.
Screening is free, but there is a non-refundable registration fee of RM20 in the case of a no show. The fee can be transferred to another person, and can be claimed to purchase a meal or drink at the venue.
This is an inspired animation of Raja Bersiong folklore, that was part of the 2020 PORT Ipoh grant recipient. SELAMA also received a ‘Highest Commendation’ laurel by the South East Asia Short Film Festival. It also features a multi-disciplinary collaboration with voice actor Endee Ahmad, writer Fahroni Hamdan, translator Nurzhah Hamdy and mastering engineer Shariman Shuhaimie.
The screening is also supported by a recent MMU animation graduate, Yu Qi with her 2D animation short film entitled ‘Take Me Places’.
