The KL Madrigal Singers (by VerSeS https://linktr.ee/versespj) will present a mini lecture recital on the top hits of Renaissance & Baroque period, sharing with the audience a selection of Elizabethan madrigals and lute songs, as well as some iconic Baroque pieces, suitable for new listeners too!
In this mini lecture recital, we will get to hear the gradual progression of polyphony from the church, into the common household, and further moving towards soloist vocal music. In addition, we will get to hear Bach’s cello suite performed both on the cello as intended, as well as comparing the transcription for the classical guitar.
