MALAYSIA CHILDREN’S PICTURE BOOKS 1930s to 2000s EXHIBITION

Get a glimpse of the past with this meaningfully historical exhibition.
Brough to you by Museum of Picture Book Art, the Malaysia Children’s Picture Books 1930s to 2000s Exhibition this coming 18 Aug to 30 Sept will be a walk down memory lane through the covers and pages of old Malayan and Malaysian children’s books.
The exhibition will not only present a range children’s books from as early as the 1930s all the way to the 2020s, it will also feature the beautiful and poignant illustrations of Nora Hamerton, a British illustrator who settled down in Malaya and helped illustrate some of the earliest local children’s books.
The illustrations in these books are among the biggest highlights of this exhibition, as they take us back to the past through depictions of local life and culture.
Come join us do #MoreTogether with the local children’s book community, while reflecting on how we have evolved throughout the times in this fascinating exhibition and guided tour.
See you there!
