WORKSHOP AUDITIONS (for 2019 season)
KL SHAKESPEARE PLAYERS, will be holding a workshop audition for actors 18 years and older, for its 2019 season which sees a lineup of shows that includes:
– Shakespeare Demystified: THE TEMPEST
– Shakespeare Demystified: OTHELLO
– French Classic Demystified: CYRANO DE BERGERAC
– A Tale That Must Be Told: THE TEMPEST

When is it
*First Round – with LIM KIEN LEE and other collaborators*
For shortlisted applicants only. Candidates must attend ALL four workshop sessions, where they will be guided through physical and vocal techniques, as well as how to play Shakespeare’s texts:
1 Sep (Sat) @ 2pm-5pm
8 Sep (Sat) @2pm-5pm
6 Oct (Sat) @2pm-5pm
13 Oct (Sat) @2pm-5pm

27 Oct (Sat) @ 10am-1pm

What to prepare
– A short monologue from Shakespeare, approximately 1 minute
– Ready to move a lot

What we are looking for
Full-time actors 18 years old and above
– with some acting experience on public stage
– who can commit to the whole season
– who can work as a team

– Free regular training to improve physical skills , voice and other acting skills
– Free workshop sessions with experienced local and overseas theatre practitioners
– Opportunities to tour to various schools, universities and theatres in various parts of Malaysia
– A taste of the life of a working actor. (Hobbyists are not welcome!)
