Arabesque, warm colors, sunshine, olives and romance come to mind when one thinks of Iberia. These qualities translate into the music composition of the region, resulting in a compendium of richly colored and rhythmic music with slender and interlacing melody lines not unlike the patterns on arabesque of the region, yet often carrying some folk dance elements. These elements carry on to influence music in Latin America although each further developed with their respected local influences over time.
