Euphonie: A Harmonic Reverie of Harp and Strings

In the realm of aesthetic creation, artists are driven to categorize and weave patterns of sound that resonate deeply within us. While the English word “euphony” often connotates phonetic sounds, particularly in poetry and literature, the French equivalent of the word leans closer to embracing the essence of Kamerata KL’s upcoming concert.

This concert will be presented with a mixture of classical music from various genres and time periods: we first delve into the captivating works of Purcell and then works by Wagenseil and Grandjany where clarity reigns supreme. The concert is then followed by a Finnish hymn-like work by Sibelius, before ending with Britten’s Simple Symphony, drawn and developed from “simple” melodic materials written at the mere age of 9 to 12.

Join us as we present an evening of harmonic reverie, presented to you by UCSI Institute of Music and Kamerata Kuala Lumpur, featuring Malaysian harpist Bryan Lee, performing Wagenseil’s Harp Concerto and Grandjany’s Aria in Classic Style with the ensemble.
