Drewfunk is a multi-disciplinary street artist and a pioneer of the Malaysian graffiti scene. After making his mark in the chaotic city of Kuala Lumpur, he moved to Melbourne and earned his name as a contemporary street artist with 10 solo exhibitions in Australia.
The inspiration for his art comes from the duality of Western and Eastern cultures. Through his style, Drewfunk had always aimed to recapture his heritage through the context of street art.
Underglaze is his first solo exhibition in Kuala Lumpur that takes a different turn from his usual style of “Oriental Funk”. His 11th exhibition will consist of several paintings in different sizes, drawings, installation art and NFT artworks.
The inspiration comes from all the way back from the Chinese blue and white porcelain plates in the 14th century using the cobalt blue pigment.
The exhibition will also feature a limited run of prints on fine art paper and a live painting session. The live painting artwork will be auctioned off for charity.
