欲画情未尽,苍然由如人- 丁良贵水墨展 Ding Lianggui Ink Painting Solo Exhibition

Ding Lianggui, a traditional Chinese ink painter from Beijing, China. Ding learnt traditional Chinese painting for over 40 years, under the tutelage of renowned artist Wang Muqiao. He is currently a member of the China Artists Association in Beijing, first grade artist of Three Gorges Art Academy in Beijing and a council member of China Painting and Calligraphy Association.

As a youth, he was recruited to the military and there he also doubled up as part of the construction team, labouring outdoors at the construction site of Heilongjiang. Despite the hard work, he never gave up on his dream of becoming an accomplished artist one day.

Ding specializes in painting flowers like peony and lotus, using the techniques of light colour swathes and lines, occasionally incorporating fine details and heavier, stronger colour profiles. His brush strokes are broad and inhibited, his lotus flowers are painted in free splashy styles, while nature elements like plants and insects are painted in unique, fascinating style.
He will exhibit around 30 pieces of artwork in both detailed and freestyle forms which depicts his emotional connection with his artwork.

The exhibition will be displayed from 13 Oct – 26 Oct, 11am -6pm daily except for Mondays and public holidays. Admission is free. OACC welcomes fans of ink painting to the exhibition opening ceremony at OACC HALL 1, on 13 Oct, 3pm.
