Bila Larut Malam (Sepetang Vol. 01) – a Spoken Word Theatre workshop performance by theatrethreesixty

Written and performed by Dhinesha
Directed by Christopher Ling
Performed in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Tamil

A young man finds himself unable to sleep with all the thoughts running through his head. A teenager wakes up aching for something that he didn’t even know he wanted and needed.

A queer adult finds both hope and torment in the bodies of others. A poet stares at his reflection in the mirror and finds performance through self.

What happens when you take a look inside and explore your loneliness?

Is it possible to feel less lonely in the stories of another?

Diving deep into the ideas of identity, belonging and hope, BILA LARUT MALAM insists on talking about all the things no one wants to talk about.

Directed by theatrethreesixty’s artistic director Christopher Ling and featuring playwright/spoken word poet/actor Dhinesha, BILA LARUT MALAM is presented this weekend as a workshop performance as part of K7’s SEPETANG VOL.01 with a full-length production to be staged in 2019.
