This November, Tapestry, a home-grown vocal group, will be presenting its latest music production, ANTHOLOGY. Playing from 11th till 13th November 2022 at the former Loke Chow Kit Mansion now known as Rumah Tangsi in Kuala Lumpur, ANTHOLOGY coincides with Tapestry’s 10th anniversary and also marks the group’s return to the stage post-pandemic.
ANTHOLOGY celebrates the power of music and the arts that helped us get through the long months in isolation and lockdown by providing an outlet to heal, smile, escape, imagine and live. Performed by an 8-member cast, and supported by a beatboxer and three-piece live band, the show features songs from well-known movies and television series, as well as various artistes including A-ha, Hall & Oates, Silk Sonic, and Queen, amongst others.
This year, Tapestry will be supporting Rumah Shalom, a foster home in Puchong which was founded in 1997 to provide shelter, care and education for underprivileged children who come from difficult family backgrounds. Tapestry will be donating a percentage of ticket sales to the organisation.
Since its formation in 2012, Tapestry has produced eight shows; Christmas Tapestry (2012), Stereo & Popcorn (2013), Human After All (2014), The Living Room Sessions (2015), About Aisya (2016), A Cap-pel-la la la la la la (2016), Tape5try (2017), and The Living Room Sessions: Sofa So Good (2018) Tapestry’s wide repertoire of songs from various musical genres has also seen the group being invited to perform at various corporate and private events including the KL International Arbitration Week Gala Dinner, World Vision’s 30-Hour Famine Countdown, The Star Outstanding Business Awards, Yayasan Sime Darby Arts Festival and Malaysian Orthopaedic Association’s Golden Jubilee Celebration Dinner, and HSBC’s Corporate Banking events.
ANTHOLOGY will be performed daily at 8:30 p.m. with an additional matinee show on 13th November 2022 at 3:00 p.m. Tickets for ANTHOLOGY are priced at RM88 and RM68 (concession price for children under 12 and students with valid IDs) and can be obtained at www.wearetapestry.com or www.cloudtix.co.
