Water Has Her Way With Us – An Immersion of Water, Wellness and Artistry at The Dia Space

The Dia Space and Emina Ashman presents:

Water Has Her Way With Us

An Immersive Afternoon Art Salon Celebrating Our Connection to Water

Water Has Her Way With Us is an immersive afternoon art salon that celebrates our relationship to water through beauty, art, poetry, and storytelling, all through a contemporary, Southeast Asian Nusantaran lens. Held on a Sunday afternoon, this salon invites reflection, artistry, and deep connection.

Evolving from Emina Ashman’s poetry single of the same title released earlier this year, this multi-disciplinary art space shifts through poetry, dance, live performance, visual art, and sound healing. Together, we will explore our collective connection to ourselves and our landscapes as bodies of water.
The day acts as a coral reef of creative currents, where expression, connection, and creative exchange flow between beautiful beings, reshaping one another as they meet. A portion of ticket proceeds from this salon go directly to local coral reef restoration efforts.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
  • Exhibition & Storytelling: Haris Rashid’s massive 8-meter river-batik installation and nature literature.
  • Ceremony & Movement: A collective water ritual with Santosh Logandran and guided movement with Luvenia Kalia.
  • Live Performance: A thread of live poetry, ambient sound landscapes by Zarul Albakri, and fluid solo dance.
  • Interactive Art: A live, collaborative installation by Sofia Haron building across the afternoon.

THE COLLABORATORS:
Featuring Emina Ashman, Santosh Logandran, Zarul Albakri, Luvenia Kalia, Haris Rashid, and Sofia Haron.

Space Limit: This is an intimate boutique salon strictly capped at 50-60 guests.

This relaxed, interactive event invites you to connect, move, or witness at your own pace.
Everything offered throughout the afternoon is an invitation.
Please follow your heart, and what feels right in your body.
