A FEW CUBIC METERS OF LOVE — an intense and gripping social-issue drama about forbidden love between a young Iranian man working in a factory in Tehran and a daughter of an Afghan worker. In his feature debut, Afghanistan-born and Iran-based director Jamshid Mahmoudi depicts the confined and constricted worlds of the characters and portrays tensions that arise when refugees are deprived of their rights.
A Few Cubic Meters of Love was selected as the Afghan entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards. The film won two Crystal Simorgh awards in the 2013 Fajr International Film Festival.
