| Synopsis : | Artist Fauzan Omar was born in 1951 in Pasir Mas, Kelantan, and studied at the Mara Institute of Technology for his diploma, and later at the Maryland Institute of Art, Baltimore, where he obtained his MFA in painting. He has exhibited extensively, at the Adiwarna Galeri, School of Fine Arts, USM (2006), the Artloft, Starhill Gallery, KL (2005), the 2nd Asia-Pacific of Contemporary Art Triennial, Queensland Art Gallery, Brisbane, Australia (1996), at the Singapore Art Museum (1996). He also won the ASEAN Art Award, sponsored by the Phillips Morris Group of Companies (1995), and received the Australian Cultural Award from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (1995). He won the Minor Award in Printmaking in the Salon Malaysia Exhibition at the National Art Gallery in 1991/92. He won the First Prize/Major Award in the Exhibition of "Keluarga Bagagia/Negara Sejahtera" in 1990. This solo exhibition of his works is curated by Safrizal Shahir. |
