Synopsis : This award winning play by Vijay Tendulkar, one of India's best-known playwrights, is considered one of his most powerful human dramas.

The story of a daughter's transformation into a wife and a mother, the play is charged with significant social and moral questions, to which there are no easy answers.

A young woman from a politically active family that regards itself as progressive and liberal, decides to marry a socially inferior, but talented man.

This gripping play, which is also laced with a gentle humour, is charged with an undercurrent of violence, uncertainties and anger, and concerns itself with questions that are crucial to all societies grappling with change and social barriers.

Directed by Lillete Dubey, who also stars along with Rajendra Gupta, Joy Sengupta, Radhika Apte and Raghav Chanana.

Brilliant! Wonderful acting, the story so powerful and emotive that at the end, both audience and actors were feeling like wrung out dishcloths. It was quite difficult to give the actors the applause they so deserved as we,the audience, sat there stunned and emotionaly spent. I do hope the actors did feel our appreciation. Sad to say, there were very few in the audience, why?
