Synopsis : Budding singers training under renowned baritone Cha Seng Tiang - Janet Lee and Cheong Whye Mun - come together in a concert featuring popular art songs and operatic arias, with Joseph Leow on piano.

The duo will present a rich and refreshing programme, with the first half of the evening covering art songs in German, French and Italian, and the second half containing some of the most famous operatic arias like Porgi Amor (from Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro), O mio babbino caro (from Puccini's Gianni Schicchi) and Song To The Moon by Dvorak, from the opera Rusalka. There will also be art songs and excerpts from operettas in English.

Whye Mun won the Kakiseni Audience Choice Award in 2002 for Aspects of Broadway and has been nominated twice for Best Solo Performance at the BOH Cameronian Arts Awards. She also juggles a career as an in-house-legal counsel and an active performing schedule. She has a vast repertoire of musical tunes from the works of Stephen Sondheim, and from musicals like Jekyll & Hdye and Les Miserables. She is also the alumna of popular a cappella group Wicked Pitches.

Janet enjoys a busy performing schedule. For the main stage, she has gone from choral singing in Turandot & Camina Burana to supporting roles such as Papagena in The Magic Flute and Sylvianne in The Merry Widow. Janet recently returned from Australia, where she played the role of YingXin at full-house performances of The Butterly Lovers – The Musical. She also makes appearances at corporate launches, weddings and dinners, where she entertains with jazz, Chinese oldies and musical numbers.
