Public Forum - Keeping Mum:
In the last few years, various headline stories suggest a move towards a more closed, intolerant society: apparent intolerance towards inter-faith dialogue; the call to end Open House and Deepa-raya; advertising for ‘Chinese Only’ jobs; ongoing announcements that Malaysia is in fact really an Islamic state; harsh penalties towards women such as Subashini, Revathi or Lina Joy who seek religious freedom; the perception that there is an attempt to encroach on Muslim rights. For the sake of the ‘silent majority’ should we keep a lid on these domestic issues?

RECOMMENDED! This hugely important event is something I want very badly to ponteng kerja just to attend. Have been trying to plot how to do this whilst editing Kakiseni. I know you that those of you in my boat must be feeling or will feel very jealous of people who will be able to attend every single second of this very rare playwrights exchange in a very accessible area of the Klang Valley.

Must must must attend, especially in the light of what's going on in terms of personal liberties here!
