| Synopsis : | A more creative world ten minutes at a time! Featuring some amazing 10-minute plays, Short+Sweet utilises the talents of Malaysia's best young and established directors, actors and technical personnel to produce a wonderful festival of theatre! Short+Sweet starts with an open call for scripts from playwrights and the registration of directors and actors. Assessors read the scripts and produce a shortlist. New and established directors then select one play each, and cast the roles primarily with actors seen at the Short+Sweet auditions. The inaugural Short+Sweet festival in Malaysia will take place from 6 - 17 August 2008 in Pentas 2, KLPac. Short+Sweet will present ten different plays each week and climax with a Gala Final and Awards Night on 17 August 2008. WRITERS... Short+Sweet is currently calling for script entries! - Each script MUST BE 10 minutes or less (NO exceptions) - Any language (for writers residing in Malaysia) - Any topic or style - Both amateur or established writers welcome - Scripts must not have had a public performance in Malaysia - Entry is on voluntary basis - Writers must be aged 16 and above at time of submission ENTRY IS FREE for those residing in Malaysia. RM30 per script entry fee for those residing outside of Malaysia. Script entries for Short+Sweet Malaysia 2008 close 5pm, Friday 23 May 2008. DIRECTORS & ACTORS... It's free to register to participate in Short+Sweet Malaysia 2008! Director registrations close 5pm, Friday 23 May 2008. Directors will be interviewed at a later date. Successful directors will direct plays performed during the Festival. Actor registrations close 5pm, Sunday 15 June 2008. Auditions will be held on 21 - 22 June 2008 at KLPac. Successful actors will perform in the Festival. Participation is strictly on a voluntary basis.
